Getting Over Fear of Needles, a Painless Way to Draw Blood: Arthur Queval, Loop Medical

Alex: interviewing visionaries of healthcare innovation

Whether you have extreme fear of needles or you are a nurse drawing blood from a child, or you'd just prefer your blood tests to be painless, here we speak about a device for you. A painless blood draw device - onflow by a Swiss startup Loop Medical.

Arthur Queval is, overall, an inventor - an engineer in micro- and bioengineering who doesn't stop inventing things, from watches industry to, now, healthcare innovations. How does it work for him?

He graduated from both EPFL, Lausanne, or École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne, one of the most famous science and technology institutions in Europe, and McGill University, recognized for its health sciences. Born in Paris, he grew up in Tahiti. He's been kite surfing for some 20 years now.

Being a Swiss startup, Loop Medical has its office windows overlooking snow covered mountains.

I don't think I can ever get used to recording a podcast with a view to the Alps.

I hope I won’t.
